Client: National Parks Conservation Association

Since 1919, the nonpartisan National Parks Conservation Association (NPCA) has been the leading voice of the American people in protecting and enhancing our National Park System's most significant lands and landmarks. NPCA has had great success in creating a large Facebook following. As a first step of their social media plan, they focused their early efforts on simply growing their number of fans. Now it was time for conversion - NPCA needed to add methods of engaging and converting these fans into action-takers. Firefly applied our expertise in best practices to the full set of project components.

Problem

Despite a large and active Facebook community, NPCA had few opportunities for supporter action within the Facebook space. They needed to allow their fans to take action on a variety of campaigns. Their goals were clear – to help Facebook fans become part of their house file, make secure donations to NPCA, and bring the data back into their online database.

Solution

Firefly created a detailed plan and timeline for the project to be sure it would run on time and on budget. The first step was design - we used NPCA branding guidelines and their large image library to develop a mock up of the look and feel for each form. The Firefly team made certain that the designs would support a wide array of advocacy and fundraising campaigns. We then built the forms in the Convio system, and the developed the corresponding pages on Facebook. We tied it all together with a custom shared image that supporters can put on their wall to help spread the word about NPCA.
