Pet Partners’ small staff supports a volunteer base of more than 15,000. A majority are members of handler teams comprised of a person and their therapy animal. Having previously maintained volunteer records on paper, their goal was to modernize all business practices and systems. Firefly brought together a variety of stakeholders to help Pet Partners select a three-tiered solution: Salesforce for their constituent database, WordPress for their website, and Engaging Networks for their online fundraising and email efforts. We delivered a custom integration between these systems for a 360-degree view of Pet Partners’ volunteers and supporters. 

In Real Time

When a prospective volunteer begins an application, it immediately appears on their Salesforce profile. As they log in to upload their badge photo, verify their experience, and update their volunteer logs, Pet Partners can monitor their progress toward becoming a certified volunteer.

The WordPress site serves up tailored content and resources based on the type of volunteer work each supporter provides in his or her community and allows supporters to log volunteer hours and update their profiles.

The Personal Touch

After registering, volunteers are directed to a volunteer center. Basic information appears at the top of each account page, giving volunteers access to the details they need to complete the registration process and see their cumulative volunteer hours. We created this tailored solution to create a simple and personalized experience for every person. Once they are logged in, volunteers can also access all this information from the main menu.

The Center of the Action

From within the Volunteer center, there are a variety of actions an individual can take. The Pet Partners team wanted an eye-catching and clear menu that would highlight these options. That is exactly what Firefly Partners provided, via custom designed icons. Volunteers can check their registration status, find resources, chat with their peers, and more. The large size and contrasting colors of the buttons ensure that they look great, and are legible, on any device.

Something for Everyone

Prospective therapy teams can submit personal information, animal records, badge photos, and verification paperwork with just a few clicks. Community leaders can post volunteer opportunities and volunteers can accept them online, creating a fast and easy way to match skills and need. With each online action, Pet Partners has greater insight into how to strengthen and grow their volunteer community.

The Firefly team brought six unique volunteer applications, three searchable directories, a series of contact forms, and a custom account management solution to life. Each of these features is integrated with Pet Partners’ Salesforce database.

Contact forms, for example, push information directly into Salesforce Leads and Cases. The directories serve up the most up-to-date information based on Salesforce records.
